Fleet Town Youth 1 Aldershot Town (U16) 2

Another fantastic night of Youth football was enjoyed by another 100+ crowd as Fleet's new Youth Development squad took on local rivals from Aldershot Town. The Aldershot lads left the well published off field problems of their parent club behind them, with both sides playing a lot of totally enjoyable football, with hardly a foul or free kick all night.
Aldershot created good chances in the first half, scoring one goal to lead 1-0 at the interval. As second half substitutions changed the line-ups, Fleet got stronger and controlled more of the play and eventually got their reward with an equalising goal. Although they continue to press a second goal eluded them and on a late break away, Aldershot got a winning goal in the final minute. Both teams got a well deserved standing ovation at the end of the match.

This was the first of two meetings between Fleet & Aldershot this weekend. Our two respective Ladies teams meet at the EBB Stadium in Aldershot on Monday in the Final of the Aldershot FA Womens Cup.

Fleet Town 0 Hungerford Town 3 Fleet were beaten as much by the pitch as their opponents on the night, in the Final of the Basingstoke Cup at Whitchurch. Hungerford scored early in the first half and added two later in the second half on breakaways after Fleet spent periods of pressure peppering the Hungerford goal, with Cox, Ben White and Danilo Cadete all going close.
Craigs musings on the night are now on the Notes rom The Dugout Page

Latest Club News

Fleet May Be South & West Bound Next Season The FA League Allocation Committee have come up with some line-ups for the 2013-14 season. These lists are based on club status now, but due to circumstances at several clubs (administration or ground or other financial matter) the lists can only be classed as provisional at best, as it is expected not all clubs in these line-ups will be eligible for, or accepted in at the relevant League AGMs in June. The FA Document places Fleet Town in the Southern League Division One South & West, so if this becomes the final constitution, Fleet will have a trip to Devon to play Tiverton, up to Worcestershire and Warwickshire for Evesham and newly promoted Stratford Town and into Wales to play Merthyr! However the FA also propose to move Godalming Town and Guildford City with us, so we will have these two local derbies still.

Fleet Town FC AGM As required by our club rules, Fleet Town FC hold an open Annual General Meeting. This years will be at 8PM on Thursday 11 JULY in the Clubhouse at Fleet Town FC. All supporters can attend, but any questions to be asked MUST be submitted at least two weeks before the date of meeting. If you have a question about the running or future of Fleet Town FC for this meeting, please email them for the attention of the club chairman to clubhouse@fleettownfc.co.uk

Ground Clean Up Day CALLING ALL BLUES SUPPORTERS.
Volunteers are required to come and help at the club on Saturday 22 JUNE for a range of clean-up duties, general tidying up, maybe some light painting and maintenance jobs. If you have a special skill and wish to help, please make yourself known to any of the committee before the day, otherwise please turn up at the ground from 9.30 onwards, own gloves and tools would be useful.

NEXT SEASON AT FLEET TOWN

Although this season has still a couple of weeks to run the Committee is already discussing plans for the 2013/14 season ahead.

To assist us with this we will need help. If you have an interest in local football and have time and would like to become involved with the running of our club at Calthorpe Park, then the committee would like to hear from you.

Please approach any committee member over the next couple of weeks and we’d be pleased to hear about your interests and can tell you about any role of many at the club. Alternatively write to Steve Cantle, Club Chairman at clubhouse@fleettownfc.co.uk
