Walton Casuals were put to the sword by Fleet Town on Bank Holiday Monday, the Blues running out comfortable 3-1 victors. The visitors dominated the early exchanges but a Johnnie Dyer strike in the 44th minute gave the hosts the advantage. Dyer and Darren Campbell added further goals as Fleet bossed the 2nd half to take the points and 7th place in the division.
Drawing 0-0 at half time, the Blues again upped their game in the second period as a four goal blitz brushed Bedfont Town aside and put Fleet into the next round of the FA Cup. The home sides goals coming from Lee Riddell, Iain Hendry and a brace from Man of the Match, Darren Wheeler.
A late Johnnie Dyer goal was the reward for a good 2nd half performance and gave Fleet the points as they came from a goal down at half time to beat Corinthian Casuals 2-1. The equaliser had come from the penalty spot, Darren Wheeler converting after man of the match Jamie McClurg had been fouled.
Fleet included six debutants for the seasons curtain raiser and the new look side battled well before Bognor Regis took the lead with a spectacular long range goal in the 69th minute. The vistors secured the points and a 2-0 victory when a 'was it a shot or a cross' effort eluded keeper Lyall Beazley ten minutes later.
