Fleet's poor form continued on Saturday, as they crashed to yet another home defeat.
Mick Catlin's men were again let down by poor defending as they gifted mid-table Sittingbourne two goals inside a minute just before the half-time break.
Up to that point Fleet had competed well against a side that had won five of its last eight games, including a fine win against high-flying Folkestone the previous Saturday.
But all of Fleet's hard work was sacrificed in a frantic final minute of the first-half, when first a poor clearance was pounced on by Sittingbourne's Tom Berry. Then a minute later a mix-up between defenders, Liam Byfield and Damian Dalton let in striker, Michael Smissen for the simplest of goals.
Both sides created chances after the break. Paul Manning went close for Sittingbourne on 60 minutes from a direct free-kick, only to see Fleet keeper, Calvin Sparshatt bring off a great diving save.
Fifteen minutes later, Fleet wingman, Shaun Hale looked to have got one back for his side, but his header passed just over the bar, with keeper, Kevin Fewell beaten.
Sittingbourne's final goal came in the 85th minute when skipper, Jamie Coyle scored with a firmly struck header, after running on to a fine cross from the left from Manning.
Fleet Town: Sparshatt, Byfield, (sub, Boyle, 75 minutes), Millerick, Hare, (Maheady, 85), Dalton, Blakely, Proctor, Shea Saunders, (Black, 45), Mealey, Smith, Hale. Subs (not used): Ian Saunders.

Shaun Hale troubles the Sittingbourne defence

Captain for the day, Tony Millerick, and Richard Mealy miss the ball

There nothing like a good clean tackle!

A rare Fleet corner. But where's the ball?

...and one from the otherside
