Visitors Basingstoke ran out comfortable winners of this local derby to record their first win in this pre-season friendly period.
The Conference South side took charge early on after Jamie McClurg put his side ahead in the 6th minute, capitalising on a poor clearance out of the Fleet defence.
Fleet wingman Shaun Hale almost got one back for the Ryman Division One side, ten minutes later, after a fine run down the left, but his shot was just turned round the far post by keeper Mark Zawadski.
Hale's effort was the only chance for the home side in the first half, reflecting the visitors' domination in mid-field throughout.
Basingstoke increased their lead on 37 minutes after a well-judged cross by Sergio Torres was nodded in at the far post by David Ray.
Fleet manager Mick Catlin rang the changes at the interval, changing his side's formation and bringing on a third striker, Eddie Smith, in an attempt to break the visitors' stranglehold on the game.
But his defence conceded a third goal on 59 minutes when Torres had time to place his shot round keeper, Peter Hooks and into the far corner of the net.
Fleet continued to press to salvage something and two minutes later had their best chance of the match when a fine through ball by Smith found strike partner, Richard Mealey. But the tall striker's flick was easily gathered in by sub keeper and skipper, Scott Tarr.
Basingstoke could have added further goals late on, as first McClurg and then Neville Roach missed fairly simple chances, the latter after Hooks had saved well from Ray.
