Fleet's pre-season preparations went up a notch on Tuesday, as their strikers took charge against a gutsy Cove side.
Five goals in all, including two by new striker, Lee Paul, saw the Fleet side home, after the home side took the lead in the 40th minute, against the run of play, from the penalty spot.
Almost immediately Fleet squared things, when Eddie Smith linked well with skipper, Gary Connelly to fire home from 15 yards.
After the break it was all Fleet, and after 5 minutes, the visitors took the lead, courtesy of Paul, who headed in a perfectly judged cross from wingback, Ben Buckland.
Ten minutes later, Fleet extended their lead when new signing, mid-fielder, Gareth Keeping was on hand to tap in a pass from Paul, running on to a great pass from wingman, Shaun Hale.
Paul netted his second on 72 minutes, firing in from a narrow angle, following a corner.
Stand-in manager, Ian Saunders then rang the changes, bringing on a full bench of subs, to keep up the pressure on a tiring Cove defence. Sub-striker, Richard Mealey then made it five with 10 minutes remaining.
With a few minutes remaining, the home side then grabbed a consolation goal, Danny Smart netting with a powerful strike from just inside the 18 yard box.
