A goal two minutes each side of half-time sealed this match for the visitors, Met Police.
The first on 43 minutes, headed in by skipper, Jon Daly from a corner, came after a period of intense pressure on the Fleet goal, when only some great saves by keeper, Paul Smith had kept the scores level. This, after a fairly even first 30 minutes in which neither side created any serious scoring chances.
Then two minutes after the break, striker Kevin Cooper headed in number two, from a cross from the right by wingman, Craig Brown.
New Fleet manager, Paul Holden, could then only watch as his depleted side upped the tempo in an attempt to break back into the game. But despite some good work by youngsters, Pete Murphy and sub, Tom Simpson, the home side could just not break through a solid and stubborn Met Police defence.
A header on 58 minutes by Fleet frontman, Lee Paul, was his side's first and best chance to get back on terms. But the ball just went wide.
Three minutes later Met Police extended their lead further, when Cooper netted his second, picking up a loose ball and firing in from 15 yards.
