Both sides had to settle for a point in this open, entertaining game which either side could have won with better finishing.

Fleet had the better of the first half-hour yet trailed thanks to a Ross Lover goal in the 21st minute, after he got through a flat Fleet defence and had time to slot the ball past the despairing dive of keeper, Justin Gray.

Fleet were playing the faster more attractive game but time after time the finishing was poor and by the interval, Cray keeper, Steve Northwood had yet to make a save. Wingback, Barry Gardener was the pick of the Cray side whose efforts on the right side gave Gray plenty to do in the Fleet goal.

Things livened up for Fleet after manager, Andy Sinton brought on striker, Ed Smith in the 65th minute. The equaliser came soon after, when Adam Wallace picked up a neat pass from Smith and hit the target from 15 yards out, his shot rolling in past Northwood after the keeper was unsighted. A minute later it was Smith running on to a pass from Phil John who put Fleet ahead, just beating Northwood to the ball to slot home from close-range.

A few minutes later Wallace had a chance to extend the lead further but a brave block from Northwood denied him. The Cray keeper continued to deny Fleet, saving well from Tony Reid and again from Wallace.

Cray kept going well and although creating few chances in the second half, managed to equalise with 9 minutes to go, skipper, Jamie Wood netting from the edge of the 18 yard area after picking up a loose ball.
