Wallace strike does the trick for ten-man Fleet
Report by Steve Cantle
A 70th minute goal by striker Adam Wallace clinched this mid-table clash for Fleet Town. It was a deserved three points for the north Hampshire side after playing most of the match with only ten men.
Fleet took the lead from their first attack in the 5th minute, after a James Field strike from a tight angle defeated Kings keeper, Luke Garrard. Striker, Jermaine Hamilton had a chance a few minutes later but Garrard did well and the shot went over the bar.
In defence Fleet looked comfortable, with skipper Steve Noakes and Will Salmon outstanding. Things changed for the home side in the 27th minute when winger, Phil John was sent off for dangerous play after team-mate, Mark Paterson had been fouled by Kings' Simon Huckle.
On the back foot for the rest of the half Fleet clung on to their lead until the 40th minute when a long throw-in from the right was nodded into his own goal by Paterson.
Fleet came out strongly after the break and despite the man disadvantage began to pressurise the visitors. Field went close before Wallace netted the winner from close-range after a long throw-in from Noakes. Eight minutes later Field's sharp volley brought a brilliant save from Garrard to keep his side in the game.
Kingstonian continued to press for the equaliser but failed to put the Fleet goal under any pressure.
