The road to Wembley starts as the FA Vase returns to the Easy AS HGV Stadium
Cup fever is building once again as we get ready to kick off our Isuzu FA Vase campaign with a much-anticipated home tie against Corinthian FC on Saturday 8 November (3pm) at the Easy As HGV Stadium.
Confidence in the camp couldn’t be higher after Tuesday night’s convincing 4-1 win over Sheerwater, a result that cemented our place in second in the Combined Counties Premier Division South. It was another dominant display from the Blues against a Sheerwater side with ambitions of their own, and one that recently managed an impressive 0-0 draw with league leaders Cobham. The fact that we scored four where Cobham couldn’t sent a clear message to the rest of the division: Fleet Town mean business this season.
That performance continues the momentum we’ve built since last season’s memorable FA Vase run, when we reached the Fifth Round Proper before narrowly losing away to eventual winners Whitstable Town. That journey reminded everyone of what this competition means to us, the excitement, the belief and the incredible support that follows the club everywhere we go.
This season, we’ll be aiming to go even further. Under Manager Darryl Evans, we’ve been playing fast, attacking football with real confidence, and there’s a strong sense of togetherness throughout the squad. The Easy As HGV Stadium has been buzzing on matchdays this year, and we’d love to see that same energy again when we start our Vase campaign next month.
Our visitors Corinthian FC, from the Southern Counties East Premier Division, have had a tough start to their season and currently sit towards the lower end of their table, but we’ll be taking nothing for granted. The FA Vase is famous for its unpredictability, and we’ll need to be right on our game to make sure we progress.
As Chair Caroline Bone said:
Last year’s Vase run brought incredible excitement to the town. We’d love to see that same passion and support again, the atmosphere at home makes a huge difference.
A good run in the FA Vase would be a huge boost for the club and the town as a whole, so let’s get the word out early… tell your friends, spread the word, and get your tickets online.
🎟️ Remember — season tickets don’t cover cup games (sorry, not our rules!) and for this game we’re offering special bundle tickets, including burgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, soft drinks and beers.
Let’s make it a proper cup day atmosphere, pack the Easy As HGV Stadium, and keep the FA Vase buzz alive in Fleet! 💙⚽
