Hampshire FA England Grassroots Football Awards!

Fleet Town FC is proud to announce that our dedicated volunteer Sam Gray has been honored with the Hampshire FA England Grassroots Football Awards Young Volunteer of the Year award. Additionally, former club secretary Phil Blakey has received the Hampshire FA England Grassroots Football Awards Certificate of Commendation.

Sam’s contributions to Fleet Town FC are nothing short of remarkable. From maintaining the ground to working behind the bar in the clubhouse and many other roles that he has carried out. His willingness to take on multiple roles and his commitment to the club make him an invaluable member of the Fleet Town FC family. Back in March, Sam participated in the Fleet Half Marathon where he raised £1700 for one of the clubs main partners, the Mustard Seed Autism Trust and is now looking to become a trustee!

In addition to Sam’s achievement former secretary, Phil Blakey, was a awarded the Hampshire FA England Grassroots Football Awards Certificate of Commendation. Phil joined Fleet Town FC in 2021 and has since played a crucial role during his time at the club. His efforts have greatly benefited not only Fleet Town FC but also the broader football community in the local area. Although Phil recently stepped back from his role due to relocating to Dorset, his contributions and impact on the club remain significant.

The recognition of Sam Gray and Phil Blakey by the Hampshire FA underscores the strength of the volunteer spirit at Fleet Town FC. The club continues to thrive thanks to the hard work and commitment of individuals like Sam and Phil, whose efforts ensure that the club runs smoothly and contributes to the success of the club both on and off the pitch.

Congratulations, Sam and Phil!
