1st Team Manager Darryl Evans’ 24/25 Season Summary

1st Team Manager, Darryl Evans provided a season summary on our 2024/25 campaign marking a playoff finish and our greatest ever run in the FA Vase reaching the round of 16 in the competition.

Wow, wow, wow, as the season comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on an incredible journey and offer my sincere thanks to everyone who has played a part in our year at Fleet Town Football Club.

First and foremost, I’m immensely proud of what we’ve achieved as a squad this season. We battled hard in the league and earned our place in the playoffs, only to suffer heartbreak on penalties away to Jersey. A 4am start and the complete lack of consideration for the squad in arranging such a fixture added to the disappointment, but it only reinforced the character and resilience of our players and staff who gave everything right to the final whistle.

In cup competitions, we made significant strides. Our run in the FA Vase was full of belief and togetherness, showing what this group is capable of when it matters most. And in the FA Cup, we gave a strong account of ourselves, putting Fleet Town on the map again and reminding everyone what this club is about; courage, character and community.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support behind the scenes. I want to extend my deepest thanks to my outstanding staff: Ben Murray, Charlie Clapham, Gary Lewis, and Luke Barron. Your tireless work, dedication, and expertise have been the backbone of everything we’ve achieved. I couldn’t have asked for a better team beside me.

To the fans, your unwavering support, home and away, has been nothing short of phenomenal. You’ve stood with us through every high and low, and that means more than words can say. To the board and everyone at the club, thank you for your continued belief and backing. Together, we’re building something special at Fleet Town, and this season was a huge step forward.

We’ll take the lessons from this year, fuel our hunger, and come back stronger.

Thank you all.

Darryl
