Darryl Evans’ thoughts going into Tuesday night’s game (29.10.24)
Darryl Evans gave his thoughts ahead of Tuesday night’s match against Knaphill at the Easy As HGV Stadium.
We’re back at The Easy as HGV stadium, ready to fight for three points after a stretch of four challenging draws. Those games saw us up against tough sides, and while the results might read as deadlocks, let’s be clear each one was an opportunity to take home the win, and that’s exactly what we need to be doing from now on.
Today, we welcome Knaphill, who are flying high and in a well deserved 4th place in the table. They’re a solid, determined side looking to bounce back after a tough loss to Whyteleafe.
They’ll be hungry to respond, and we should expect nothing less. But make no mistake they’re facing a Fleet Town team that’s done with settling. We’ve used these last few days to recover, reset, and focus on one thing only: turning up on the pitch with energy, ruthlessness, and control. It’s time to get back to winning ways.
We know what we need to improve on: cutting out the errors that have given opponents chances to punish us. But it’s not just about eliminating mistakes; it’s about turning possession and hard work into goals. I want to see us getting forward, creating more, being clinical in the final third, and above all, seizing the moment. We’ve got the skill, we’ve got the grit, and we’ve got you, the loyal Fleet Town fans cheering us on every step of the way.
Thank you for the incredible support you show us week in, week out. It means everything to the lads and to all of us. Today, we’re giving it everything for you, and we know you’ll be right there with us, pushing us over the line.
Let’s make it count, let’s bring home the three points!
Up the Fleet!
