Elliott Hunt’s Pre-Match Thoughts Vs Sandhurst Town

Elliott Hunt gives his thoughts going into Saturdays match at home to Sandhurst Town in the Combined Counties Premier Division South.

First off a massive happy new year to all our fans that have been an absolute bedrock for us so far this season! Thank you for making my step into manager of your amazing football club such a joy and delight & without you this club would not be where it is today. Let’s hope that 2024 can see further success brought to Fleet and who knows where we will end up, the journey has just begun.

A warm welcome to our visitors today, Sandhurst. Last time out we had a thriller of a football match with the scoreline ending in our favour 5-4, with Sam Marks showing his usual calm relaxed persona to slot away that winning goal. Sandhurst always present
an all out attacking threat. This was evident in our previous fixture so we know we have to be at our best to nullify their threats. They are a young, hungry squad, which usually means relentless. These are the matches that our boys love.

This week we enjoyed successful training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday to brush off any cobwebs after our game last weekend was postponed. We are delighted to welcome back Luke Phair from injury which now means our squad is back to full fitness which presents me with many a headache! Also congratulations goes to Louie Blake for his player of the month award for December. All I can say is the best is yet to come.

As we move into 2024 our target is simple, the squad wants play offs and that is what we are looking to achieve. I’m in a very fortunate position that we have talent in abundance, be it in my current squad or the U18’s that are knocking on the door under the superb leadership of Fred Stevens. This is a very exciting time for Fleet Town FC, games at this time of year will come thick and fast so we need everyone from players and supporters to get behind us and that starts this weekend at The Mustard Seed Stadium!
