FA VASE: THE ROAD TO WEMBLEY STARTS AT HOME AGAINST RUSTHALL FC
The road to Wembley begins at the Easy As HGV Stadium this Saturday, as Fleet Town welcome Rusthall FC in the First Round Proper of the FA Vase.
The FA Vase campaign begins at home this Saturday as Fleet Town welcome Rusthall FC to the Easy As HGV Stadium in the First Round Proper.
The FA Vase is one of the great competitions in non-league football. First played in 1974, it gives clubs at our level the chance to embark on a genuine national cup run, with every victory taking you one step closer to the ultimate prize – a place in the final at Wembley Stadium.
For the Blues, the journey starts right here in Fleet.
Our visitors Rusthall FC make the trip from Kent and currently compete in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division, at the same Step 5 level as Fleet. They booked their place in the First Round Proper with a 4–1 victory over AFC Walcountians, so we know they’ll arrive looking to continue their own FA Vase journey.
Fleet come into the game in fantastic form and with another home cup tie to look forward to, we want to make the Easy As HGV Stadium a brilliant place to be this Saturday.
We’ve had some fantastic support already this season, and we’d love to beat our highest attendance of the campaign so far – the 522 who came through the gates for our opening-day clash with Corinthian-Casuals.
So bring your friends, bring the family and let’s see if we can set a new season-high crowd for the start of our FA Vase adventure.
