Fleet Town FC launches Education & Football Academy: register your interest today
Fleet Town Football Club is delighted to announce the launch of the Fleet Town FC Academy, a new daytime Education & Football Programme for boys and girls aged 16–18, with our first intake beginning in September 2027.
Based here in Fleet, the Academy will give students the opportunity to combine a high-quality football development programme with an NCFE Level 3 in Sport and Physical Activity – equivalent to three A-levels.
Students will train and develop with highly qualified coaches and have the opportunity to represent Fleet Town FC playing for our newly formed Academy teams, while continuing their education and preparing for their next step.
Registrations of interest are now open, with our first two Open Evenings taking place on Thursday 22 October and Tuesday 3 November.
Building for the future
The club is making great strides both on and off the pitch, including a fantastic start to the current season, but our ambitions go far beyond the short term.
A huge amount of work is taking place behind the scenes as we look at where we want Fleet Town FC to be in two, three, four and five years’ time.
Central to that vision is creating a club where the best young boys and girls in Fleet and the surrounding area want to come and play their football.
We already have a strong pathway which gives boys and girls the opportunity to represent Fleet Town from the age of five through to senior football. The introduction of the Academy strengthens that pathway further and provides another important bridge between youth and senior football.
We want to attract talented young players to Fleet Town, help them develop and give them opportunities to progress – while ensuring their education remains every bit as important as their football.
Education and football
The Fleet Town FC Academy has been designed to give young people the opportunity to continue their education while developing their football within a structured club environment.
In the classroom, students will study an NCFE Level 3 in Sport and Physical Activity, equivalent to three A-levels.
The programme will help prepare students for their next step after the Academy, whether that is progressing into higher education, pursuing a career within sport or exploring other opportunities.
On the pitch, students will work with highly qualified coaches in a programme designed to improve their individual game, technical ability, tactical understanding and overall development.
Alongside their training, students will have the opportunity to represent Fleet Town FC in competitive football as part of our newly formed Academy teams.
The aim is to provide an environment which develops the whole person – combining education, football and personal development while providing genuine pathways for the future.
A new addition to the Fleet Town pathway
The new Fleet Town FC Academy is a new programme and should not be confused with our existing Under-18s team, which has previously been referred to as the Fleet Town Academy.
Our existing Under-18s will continue to play an important role within the club and our youth-to-senior pathway.
The new Academy launching in September 2027 is a dedicated daytime Education & Football Programme for 16–18 year olds, combining academic study, regular football training and competitive fixtures representing Fleet Town FC.
It will be open to both boys and girls, further supporting our ambition to create strong pathways into both our senior men’s and women’s football.
Join our first Academy intake
Our inaugural Fleet Town FC Academy intake begins in September 2027, and we are now inviting young players and their parents or guardians to register their interest.
Before then, we’re opening the doors at Fleet Town FC for two Academy Open Evenings:
Thursday 22 October 2026
Tuesday 3 November 2026
The evenings will give prospective students and their families the opportunity to learn more about the NCFE Level 3 in Sport and Physical Activity, our football and coaching programme, the Academy teams and the opportunities available after completing the course.
You’ll also be able to meet the people behind the programme, see where it will be based and ask any questions you may have.
