Fleet Town FC Retain Dan Bone for the 2024/25 Season!
Fleet Town Football Club is delighted to announce that star striker Dan Bone will be staying with the team for the 2024/25 season. A prolific striker, Dan has been a key player for Fleet Town since our days in the Wessex League and has proven his worth time and again with his goal-scoring ability.
Dan first made his mark with the club during our time in the Wessex League, where his goal-scoring abilities quickly earned him a reputation as a formidable striker. His deep connection with the club and its supporters makes his retention all the more significant.
Dan rejoined Fleet Town last season in November from Knaphill, and his impact was immediate. Despite joining midway through the season, he managed to score an impressive 21 goals for the Blues, showcasing his talent and ability to find the back of the net consistently. Dan’s return was a significant boost for the team, contributing greatly to our overall performance. Dan was also the teams top scorer over the entirety of last season and he won the supporters player of the year.
Having a striker of Dan Bone’s calibre is crucial for the upcoming season. His experience, combined with his scoring ability, provides the team with a strong attacking threat. Dan’s knack for being in the right place at the right time and his clinical finishing make him an indispensable part of the squad.
Dan Bone gave his thoughts on resigning for Fleet this season:
“When Darryl and Ells spoke to me about the plans for this season it was an easy decision to stay at Fleet for this season. You can see already the standard of players we have got in that there is something special building for this season.
My family has always been a part of the club. I think someone in my club has held every position in the club. I grew up on the road next to the ground. Plus my sister would probably disown me if I left now!
Last season the bond we had as group was one of the best I’ve experienced. I came in when Elliot was in temporary charge and I could tell from them how he wanted it to be more professional and this has only grown as we have gone along.
I think the best experience last season was the last minute winner at home to Guildford, you could see from the celebrations how much it meant to the group and hopefully many more of those to come this season.
With the calibre of players we have brought in, I am excited to see where we can go! I’d like to see us push and challenge at the top end of the table.
Personally, I’d like to be up the top of the scoring charts both for the club and the league but with lots of competition in the side it will be an exciting season.
Finally to the fans, I massively appreciate being selected as the fans player of the season, I’m glad my contributions to the team were recognised and hopefully more of the same this season.”
We hope you join us in celebrating Dan’s decision to stay and supporting him and the entire team throughout the 2024/25 season.
Welcome back, Boney!
