Fleet Town FC Signs Defender Andy Matthews!

Fleet Town FC is delighted to announce the signing of centre back Andy Matthews, who joins the club on dual registration basis from Thatcham Town FC. Andy is set to bring his formidable defensive skills and leadership qualities to the Fleet Town squad.

Andy spent part of last season with Thatcham Town FC and continued to make his mark at the beginning of this season. His familiarity with Fleet Town’s squad is a bonus, as he has played alongside many current players during his time at Badshot Lea FC in previous seasons.

In addition to his club experience, Andy is part of the British Army Football Team, where he has not only been a regular player but has also captained the team on numerous occasions.

First team manager Darryl Evans expressed his excitement about the signing, stating, “We are so happy to welcome Andy to Fleet Town Football Club. Matty brings a great presence, aerial ability, and cool calm leadership. The Army and Thatcham centre back will give us the strength in the squad that is required to compete on every level.”

Evans added, “I would like to give Matty a warm welcome to the Easy As HGV Stadium. Andy is also available for selection with immediate effect.”
