Fleet Town Tigers U13 Roar to Victory in Surrey FA County Cup Final!
Meadowbank stadium, the home of Surrey FA and Dorking FC, witnessed a spectacle of pure grit and determination on Sunday, March 23rd, as our Fleet Town Tigers U13s took on KPR Blues in the Surrey FA U13 Girls County Cup Final!
With the memory of a hard-fought draw in our last encounter, the Tigers knew this would be a battle. But armed with their incredible team spirit and unwavering confidence, they were up for the challenge.
The match began with both teams feeling each other out, however the Fleet defence was impenetrable, repelling early KPR attacks. The Fleet players’ confidence increased and they slowly took control of the game and through some really nice football started creating chances. And then, a perfectly delivered corner met the head of a soaring Tiger, sending the ball back over the keeper and 1-0. Fleet continued this strong spell for the rest of the half, displaying skill, courage, and organisation that limited KPR to an increasing counter-attack and long ball game that was continually snuffed out.
The second half saw the Tigers emerge with even more determination and the substitutions added to the team’s relentless drive. The Tigers’ persistence paid off, doubling their lead to 2-0 with a lovely team goal.
KPR reacted and started pushing forward more but Fleet didn’t give them any real opportunities. Tigers were now more composed and five minutes before the final whistle rounded up a great performance with a final goal to make it 3-0 win to Fleet.
A massive congratulations to our incredible U13 Tigers! Let’s hear it for the Surrey FA U13 Girls County Cup Champions!
