Match report: Guildford City 2-1 Fleet Town
Fleet Town brought latest signing Liam Pestle straight into the starting XI. In a game of strong defences, the decisive moments of the first half were two penalty kicks, firstly Connor Young netted from the spot on 40 minutes to put Fleet ahead, then Will May levelled with his penalty in the third minute of first half added time.
Callum Smart*, on his return on dual registration basis had to leave the action after 87 minutes with a head injury, being replaced between the posts by Connor Young.
Connor pulled off a great save from Guildford’s second penalty of the match but was beaten by Nathaniel Mensah in the twelfth minute of added time, as Guildford took the lead for the first time of the afternoon and they were able to hold on for the final five minutes of added time to maintain their unbeaten home league record, this season.
