New opportunities to join the Board at Fleet Town FC!

Do you have an interest in non-league football, community projects and good general business knowledge?

Fleet Town Football Club, a volunteer-led Hampshire FA  Affiliated club playing Step 5 in the football pyramid are looking to strengthen our Board of Directors by adding 3 fantastic people to continue the amazing journey we have been on and fulfil our vision.

The Directors are in place to support all aspects of the football club, and help the club thrive both on and off the pitch. There is no expectation that the Directors need to fulfil day to day operational roles, however if they do wish to do so in addition to their role on the board then that is absolutely fine!

Fleet Town Football Club have been in operation since 1890, with the club running out of The Mustard Seed Stadium, behind Calthorpe Park in the heart of Fleet since 1923. The Senior side of the club runs Men’s and Women’s 1st team squads, a Reserves Squad, and a Male Development Squad. The junior sections  provide football opportunities to boys and girls of all ages and abilities from 4 years old to Under 18’s and the junior sections are run by separate committees.

The Board looks after the business of the Senior section of the Football Club ensuring it is financially viable and compliant across the wide regulatory landscape whilst being available to deliver the highest level of football and support membership events, community activities and projects.

The Board is entirely voluntary but has a key role to play in the Clubs success. As a Director your reward will be the onward sustainability of the club and the success on and off the pitch.

The Board of Directors are responsible for:

  • Formulating and delivering the commercial aspects of the Club.
  • Developing partnerships with the business community and stakeholders that include local and district councils.
  • Generating funding opportunities through local and national funding and grant schemes.
  • Ensuring we are delivering the clubs compliance programs.
  • The maintenance and spend plans for our facility.
  • Raising the profile and accessibility of the Club.

The Board meets monthly, mainly in person at the clubhouse but with remote meetings if appropriate.

Each Board Director will be expected to:

  • Attend monthly executive meetings.
  • Review financial statements and any other circulated papers ahead of any discussion tabled for the meeting.
  • Prepare papers ready for discussion at the meetings.
  • Apply their knowledge and experience to review and develop business opportunities for the club.
  • Support all teams in the Senior Section to be able to play at the highest level of football.
  • Recommend new courses of action for the club to take to support the commercial and sustainability targets.
