The magnificent seven! FTFC First Team Management & Coaching Team for 2026/27
Fleet Town FC Confirm First Team Management & Coaching Team for 2026/27.
Manager Jamie McClurg has finalised his management and coaching team ahead of the new season, assembling a group packed with experience, success and football knowledge as preparations continue for the 2026/27 campaign.
Speaking about his backroom staff, McClurg said:
“I am really happy to have a strong team of good people around me. Between them they bring a huge amount of experience, football knowledge and success at different levels of the game. Just as importantly, they are people I trust and enjoy working with. They all share the same ambition to improve players, raise standards and help move Fleet Town FC forward, and I can’t wait for us to get started together.”
Director of Football Jon Underwood added:
“We have a really good blend of knowledge and experience and people who have enjoyed success in the game, alongside fresh new energy and ideas. It’s a team who will help Clurgy to drive standards on the training ground and on matchday and having spoken to them all I know they can’t wait to start working with the players!”
Ryan Parsons | Assistant Manager
Known throughout non-league football as “Parso”, Ryan joins the club with an outstanding record of success. A former professional at Wycombe Wanderers, he went on to enjoy a distinguished non-league playing career with Windsor & Eton, Maidenhead United, Hemel Hempstead Town, Bracknell Town and Slough Town.
During his playing career he achieved six promotions and was part of the Slough Town side promoted alongside Jamie McClurg. Last season he served as First Team Coach at Virginia Water and arrives at Fleet Town with a reputation for developing players, demanding high standards and creating winning environments.
George Short | Player/Assistant Manager
Central midfielder George Short is no stranger to either Jon Underwood or Jamie McClurg. George spent two seasons playing under Underwood at Slough Town and was part of the club’s promotion-winning Step 4 side. He later reunited with McClurg at Binfield, helping the Moles secure promotion and reach the FA Vase Final at Wembley Stadium during a memorable campaign.
An intelligent footballer with an excellent understanding of the game, George will provide valuable leadership on and off the pitch and will support the management team whenever he is not involved in playing duties.
Lee Simpson | Head Coach
UEFA B Licence holder Lee Simpson brings an impressive coaching pedigree to Fleet Town.
After beginning his coaching journey within Fulham’s academy system, Lee established and successfully ran his own coaching business, EPC. He later moved into management, leading Bracknell Town Under-18s to the First Round Proper of the FA Youth Cup before achieving two promotions with Berks County in senior football.
His experience in player development, coaching methodology and team management will be a major asset throughout the season.
Oscar Crowley | Assistant Coach
Oscar Crowley joins as Assistant Coach having built an excellent reputation at Wokingham Town, where he has served as First Team Coach since 2023. With more than 140 matches of senior football coaching experience already under his belt, Oscar brings valuable knowledge, energy and enthusiasm to the management group and will play an important role in supporting players on training nights and matchdays.
Jack Medhurst | Goalkeeping Coach
Goalkeeping Coach Jack Medhurst reunites with Lee Simpson after previously working together at Berks County. Jack has also held coaching roles at Eversley & California and Binfield, developing a strong reputation for helping goalkeepers maximise their potential. His specialist knowledge and experience will be invaluable to Fleet Town’s goalkeeping department.
Neil Selby | Development Coach
Known to many as “Sellers”, Neil enjoyed an excellent playing career after progressing through Southampton’s youth system. The striker went on to represent clubs including Aldershot Town, Boreham Wood and Bracknell Town, earning a reputation as a prolific goalscorer throughout non-league football.
A Fleet resident, Neil has management experience with both Sandhurst Town and Godalming Town and spent last season coaching Fleet Town’s Under-18s. This season he will support the First Team coaching staff, working closely with the club’s attacking players and helping to bridge the pathway between youth and senior football.
Roger Herridge | Support Staff
Roger brings a wealth of local football knowledge and experience to the management group. Having managed extensively within non-league football, most notably with Binfield and Wokingham Town, Roger has previously worked alongside several members of the new management team.
His experience, guidance and support will provide an invaluable resource for Jamie McClurg and his staff throughout the season.
With pre-season preparations underway and the squad beginning to take shape, the new management and coaching team are looking forward to getting started and helping Fleet Town FC continue its progress both on and off the pitch.
