Abbey Rangers 1 Fleet Town 1
Fleet Town pay penalty for missed chances and only bring one point back from Abbey Rangers.
Fleet town went over to Addlestone on Tuesday night, hoping for a repeat of the home game against these opponents only a few days ago, when Fleet dominated. Early chances came and went before Fleet Town had the golden opportunity to take the lead when they were awarded a Penalty after twenty minutes. For the second game in a row, Dean Rule was unable to find the net from the spot. This gave the home side some extra encouragement to keep Fleet at bay and the game reached the break at 0-0.
Ten minutes into the second half Fleet were left stunned when Milo Derham’s super strike found the net to put Abbey Rangers into the lead. Much to the delight of the following faithful this hastened the introduction of Dan Bone off the bench. Within five minutes of coming on Dan Bone got his head on to a superbly delivered corner from Josh Stepney, the ball powered past Shay Honey into the net to level the game up at 1-1. With fans thinking it was only a matter of time before they would go on and find a winning goal, but on the night that clinical finish eluded the players and chances were wasted. Despite only picking up one point, this still strengthened their play off place as sixth placed Knaphill lost at home to fall even further behind the play off group.
Next is another away trip on Saturday to seventh placed Tadley Calleva.
