Craig Hayman’s Thoughts ahead of Sundays Womens FA Cup tie against Dulwich Hamlet

Craig Hayman spoke to the media team ahead of this weekends Adobe Women’s FA Cup tie against Dulwich Hamlet Women!

Since Fleet asked me to be their women’s manager, I couldn’t have made a better choice in agreeing to take the role on. I have brought players that I have been working with for the last 6 years. Most of my players are 17,some turning 18 soon. The new signings are 16, all of them making an impact on match days as well.

We have won our first 3 league games with the best being the weekend against Stoneham 7-3.
We have had a great start to the season with a 5-0 win in our first fa cup round against a resilient Rushmoor. An 8-2 win against a tier 5 side Badshot Lea in the second round. We have played some fantastic football in all these games and have got better week on week.

I’d like to thank all our supporters that have made the effort to come down and watch. Also thanks to the mascots on home match days and I’d like to thank Caroline, Tommy, Darren, Chris and Darryl for all their fantastic support and organisation.

Now we meet Dulwich Hamlet Women in the 3rd round. A National league side that I know a bit about being some of the players used to play with my daughter a couple of years ago. We are definitely going into this game as the rank outsiders! A young tier 6 team v an experienced tier 4 team. It will be interesting to see the levels, just to know where we are at as a team.

All I know is this Fleet team are full of winners and will give it there best shot! We are not going to change our game plan and come out defending. We are going to play our normal game and whether that is good enough we will have to wait and see?

Good luck to Dulwich Hamlet Women, may the best team win!
