Match Report: Fleet Town 2 Cobham 2

Fleet Town put in an improved performance against playoff-bound Cobham, battling back from two goals down to secure a well-earned point at Calthorpe Park.

The match saw the return of fan-favourite Billy Oram, rejoining the Fleet Town family as they push for a crucial playoff spot. With Tadley Calleva hot on their heels in the race for fifth place, every point matters in the battle for a postseason berth—though securing it would mean an away trip to the team finishing second in the table.

Cobham started strongly and took an early lead in the 13th minute through Elijah Simpson. Despite Fleet’s determined defending and moments of attacking promise, Simpson struck again just before half-time, doubling the visitors’ advantage and leaving Fleet with a mountain to climb.

But climb it they did. Emerging for the second half with renewed intensity, Fleet Town wasted no time turning the tide. Just four minutes after the restart, Leo Decabo rifled a shot past Conrad Knight to pull one back. The momentum was now firmly with the hosts, and 15 minutes later, Decabo struck again from the edge of the box to level the score.

Fleet pressed for a winner, but Cobham, sensing the shift, tightened up at the back to see out the game. Despite their attacking intent, Fleet couldn’t find a breakthrough, settling for a 2-2 draw.

The point keeps Fleet three ahead of Tadley Calleva in sixth as they head into a crucial run of three consecutive away fixtures against Guildford City, Tooting & Mitcham, and Camberley Town—where every result will be vital in the playoff race.
