Match Report: Redhill 2 Fleet Town 0

Redhill proved too strong for Fleet Town on Saturday afternoon as they maintained top spot in the table.

A strong defensive performance from Fleet Town, boosted by the return of Nick Medcraft and Tom Smith at the back, kept the score down, only conceding one goal in each half. After Twenty minutes Redhill opened the scoring when a long ball forward was collected by Charlie Penny, he squared the ball into the box to Seb Tauta-Cabllero who was able to steer the ball into the net.

Early in the second half Redhill won a corner, taken by Olly Allen he delivered the ball towards Joey Dyett, who headed the ball home to make it 2-0 after Fifty two minutes. After this Finley Purcell in goal and the Fleet defence kept Redhill from adding any further goals, but never managed to score themselves to get back into the game.

Other results mean the Fleet Town cannot make the top three and will have an away game (to one of Redhill, AFC Whyteleafe or Jersey Bulls) in the play off semi final, at best, as wins for Tadley Calleva & Tooting and Mitcham see them close the gap to Fleet Town, who hold on to fifth place.

Next up for Fleet Town is another away trip on Saturday 22nd as they fly over to the Channel Islands for a visit to Jersey Bulls.
