Darryl Evans on tomorrows FA Cup season opener!

The Fleet Town media team spoke with first team joint-manager Darryl Evans ahead of tomorrow afternoons season opener against Alton in the FA Cup Extra-Preliminary Round.

After a very busy and tough pre season we head into this weekend feeling very positive but also very aware of the task ahead.

Our team and coaching staff have worked tirelessly to ensure we are fit and as ready as we can be. A massive thank you to Everyone Active and Primal movements (Gary Lewis) for their help and professionalism throughout. This has helped us to really start to gel, however we still have areas we need to fine tune.

As we embark on the 2024/25 season campaign with a tough local derby game against Alton, a team who beat us 1-0 in my first fixture with Fleet. We are under no illusion that all eyes are on us as a group this year. For us to achieve our goals we have to take each game as it comes starting with this tough season opener in the world famous FA Cup. I have full belief in our squad and with the help of the traveling Fleet Town faithful we should hopefully get the result we all want.

I am really looking forward to this game and the season ahead.
