Sheerwater 3 Fleet Town 1
Fleet Town drop points against one of the form teams in the Division.
After a couple of early half chances each, Fleet Town were forced to change their plans after only Fourteen minutes, when Chike Kandi was forced off and Matt Surmon was brought on. Fleet were loving dangerously in the first half, giving Sheerwater two free kicks in dangerous areas, one from a heavy tackle and the other from a handball, inches outside the penalty area, but Sheerwater could not convert these and make Fleet pay. In the final minute of the first half, Sheerwater had the best chance of the half, when Elliott York crossed the ball into the box, it reached Rahman Ajobola, but he fluffed his chance allowing Fleet to survive at 0-0 at the break.
After Fifty-Four minutes Harvey Valter, who was not a starter on the original team sheet, but promoted from the bench when Kareem Foster was injured in the warm ups, intercepted a clearance from Liam Pestle and lobbed the ball over Finley Purcell to give Sheerwater the lead. Sheerwater doubled their lead after Seventy minutes when Theo White tried to chip Finley Purcell, but the Fleet keeper was able to push the ball away, unfortunately for him the ball ran to Elliott York who was able to clot the ball into the net.
Only Four minutes later Fleet Town were back in the match, a tremendous shot by Leo Decabo smashed against the bar and back into the field of play, where Dan Bone was first to react and fire the ball in to pull a goal back. As Fleet searched for an equaliser a late break by Sheerwater, saw them get in a cross which was nodded in by Liam Avery for their third goal after Eighty-Eight minutes.
With Knaphill losing as well and Cobham not having a game today, there is no change in the large points gaps between 4th/5th/6th placed sides.
Fleet Town only have a couple of days to regroup and prepare for their next game at home to Guildford City at The Easy As HGV Stadium on Tuesday night.
